Efteling has announced Magicaluna, a brand-new illusion show set to debut at the Efteling Theater in 2026, bringing a surreal, non-verbal spectacle of magic, dreams and imagination to the park’s daily entertainment line-up.

Launching on 3 April, Magicaluna is a twenty-minute family show that blends theatrical illusion, visual storytelling and fantastical creatures in a distinctly Efteling style.

The new live production will play three times daily and be included with park admission.

A Journey Through Dreams and Wonder

At the heart of Magicaluna is the story of Luna, a teenage girl standing on the brink of adulthood. On the eve of her birthday, Luna decides to leave her childhood behind, packing away her toys, including Jokie, a cherished doll given to her by her grandmother.

That night, as Luna sleeps, mysterious “dream builders” appear. Using enchanting illusions, they transform her bedroom into an ever-shifting dream world. As Luna awakens, she is drawn into a series of magical scenes filled with living toys, guiding shadows and surreal visual effects.

Through this dreamlike journey, Luna reconnects with a sense of wonder she thought she had lost, learning a central message that resonates across generations: you are never too old to dream.

A Collaboration with World-Renowned Illusion Specialists

For Magicaluna, Efteling is collaborating with Magus Utopia, an internationally acclaimed illusion producer with more than 25 years of experience and productions staged in over 40 countries.

Magus Utopia is best known to theme park audiences for its work on Nightmare Fuel Wildfire at Universal Studios Florida’s Halloween Horror Nights, currently the highest-rated show in the event’s history. The company has also developed multiple large-scale productions for Chimelong Ocean Kingdom in China, overseeing everything from illusion design to performer training and direction.

Magicaluna marks Magus Utopia’s first collaboration with Efteling, promising a production that combines modern illusion techniques with the park’s signature fairytale atmosphere and emotional storytelling.
