A multi-billion-pound investment in a major new Universal theme park and resort in Bedford has been agreed between Universal, the UK government and the local council.

In 2023, Universal confirmed the purchase of an approximately 476-acre (192-hectare) parcel of land south of Bedford with the goal of exploring a potential new park and resort experience at this site. They have spent the last several months undertaking feasibility and due diligence work and discussing the project with local and national stakeholders.

The theme park, which is set to be one of the largest and most advanced in Europe, will bring nearly 20,000 jobs during the construction period, with a further 8,000 new jobs across the hospitality and creative industries when it opens in 2031.

Built by Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC), the Raptor model has garnered a reputation for delivering some of the most intense and heart-pounding experiences on the market.
