Walibi Belgium is set to undergo another major transformation with the introduction of a newly themed area, Dock World, featuring a new roller coaster.
As part of the park’s continuous evolution, the area will introduce an exciting family roller coaster - Walibi Belgium’s tenth - which has the project name Speed Boat.
With a significant investment of approximately €35m, Dock World will embrace a maritime theme that's designed to evoke the lively atmosphere of a bustling harbour.
The new area will feature multiple exciting attractions, including a family-friendly roller coaster built by Gerstlauer Amusement Rides. The coaster will span 925 metres in length, reach a top speed of 65 km/h, and feature three thrilling launches. The ride’s winding layout will include airtime hills and run partially over water, adding an extra splash to the maritime ambiance. A potential name for the coaster is Speed Boat, which perfectly complements the overall theme.
The new roller coaster will not be the only highlight of Dock World. Several existing attractions will be re-themed to fit into the new harbour environment. For example, the popular Psyke Underground, a classic Schwarzkopf coaster, will be returning to its original name, Turbine, in 2025. Additionally, the Flash Back water ride will also be given a maritime makeover. The redesign of the family-friendly teacups ride, which will be renamed Tous en Boîte, is another unique aspect of the theme. The new design will feature crab-shaped cars, evoking the image of cans being packaged at the harbour, further enhancing the creative theme of the area.
Walibi Belgium’s new Dock World is set to be a major draw for visitors when it opens in 2025. With its new roller coaster, the reimagined classics, and immersive maritime theme, the area promises to offer an unforgettable experience for families and thrill-seekers alike.
